Farewell guys :'(

I hate to admit this, but people who love to troll, insult, bash, swear are the ones that let this happen! I'm very sad to hear that it's shutting down, message board is my favorite section on IMDB.. :(

I feel that I'm losing a member of my family, without the message board, IMDB is nothing

Feeling very disappointed, even though I truly confess that the haters annoyed me the whole way through but all of the users, I mean everyone, indirectly taught me how to do better in sarcasm, jokes, antics, banter and I swear to God, you guys made my days cause I laughed so hard that once in a while, my stomach ache (a good thing).

I used to be weak at sarcasm when involving a chat with friends but since I have used this application for 2 years, it keeps getting better and better.

Hate to say this but goodbye users. Hope we can talk again after this.

I don't think they care about all the trolling, they just say people didn't use the message boards enough. I will miss the place too. 😔

I'm wondering if we should have a week of action or something and no one loads IMDb for that time, just to make a point!

I won't be frequenting this site as much anymore, without the boards whats the point? Trailers are better on YouTube. Other than the occasional 'who was that guy' moment there is no point.

Won't be part of my load up routine no more.

Anyone know of any alternatives?

I will really miss these boards as well. As for what can be done, if anyone is interested in taking the time to do so, there is a site called boards.net where you can create your own discussion forums totally free of charge. It is relatively easy to do but takes considerable time to set everything up and to find reliable people to moderate the discussions. Not to mention that you have to find a way to let people know the place is there in the first place.

So while it is not a perfect solution, there is a way to set up a discussion community if anyone is interested.

The 2 worst places in the world....a Turkish prison and the IMDB message boards...It was either fake reviews of bad movies saying how great they are, or insults. The board need 2000 moderators to comb through comments daily to keep it civil.Alas it will be sad to see it go for the few that made good points.
The message boards for this move, "Live By Night" is a prime example.

All the trolls destroyed it, defeinitely, l tried to educate dvkheads so many times but most people are just that. So frustrating. They might open it up again. OR the masses that post regular will figure out an alternative. They're just opening up space for something else.

im sad its going. who knows the real reason. i have had fun and been informed and entertained.

i always enjoyed the american v brit arguments over nothing of consequence which ultimately finished with stuff about teeth and various things about the second world war. hilarious all of it
