This movie deeply offended me

I was deeply offended by this film, as a filmmaker. What is it about conservatives that they can't make a decant movie? I'm not talking about their politics. Just production value-wise. It's not like you didn't have the budget. I heard it had $4mill. That's more than enough to make something look like it wouldn't get a freshman film school student expelled.

....wow did this thing suck. I mean again, I don't care about your ridiculous straw man message full of lies, that doesn't concern me. It's the quality of the project that.... conservatives should have all their camera phones taken away until they can learn how to shoot. And no, this isn't censorship. It's an intervention.

If it was really that bad, you shouldn't even be wasting your time posting here.

Funny, I thought that's these message boards are for, to talk about this movie, guess I was wrong.

Talk about this movie? Yes. Just come here and waste your time spewing hate towards Christians and Americans? Well, anybody has that right. And I have the right to say I find such behavior pointless and stupid.

I was talking about the technical deficiencies of the film but don't let me interrupt your Christian persecution complex.

most of the people that hate this film are Americans. This film wouldnt even be considered outside redneck country.

I think you may have erroneously posted this on the wrong movie message board. If not, would you please refresh my memory as to exactly which scene was about wine making (the most prevelent process for which "decanting" is used). Or perhaps you were referring to the secondary definition, which is the transference of liquid from once container to another. Though yet again I fail to see how that relates to this movie.

On another note...what is it about film critics who appear to be lacking primary level grammatical proficiency? I blame this on the limited pedagogical skills of their primary instructors.

If you're trolling, then good job. But if you're serious, then he meant to say "decent"

reply

I haven't seen the movie itself, but it seems to me conservatives have disdain for the artform, or any artform for that matter. They won't hire someone who has vision, anything that challenge their pre-conceived notions or ideas.

I'm not offended by the film's message or its politics (however paranoid and preposterous). What I do find offensive - as a movie-lover for nearly four decades - is when people use cinema solely as a platform to propagandize while having utter disregard for it as an art form. It's like a big FU to people who love film.

To say that you can't stand for a movie to be used to foster an agenda, and to refer to just conservatives, is truly slanted. This has been the tactic of liberals for years. Just see almost any Matt Damon or George Clooney film that isn't a comedy.

In spite of your denial I believe that that is exactly what your problem is. I think that you might be deceiving yourself, my friend. It is about politics; otherwise why even bring it up?
