It is a live action version of a cartoon series isn't it?

You're probably thinking of Bromwell High, but there isn't any connection between the two series, even Holli, Amber, and Saz are basically Keisha, Latrina, and Natella respectively.
I was thinking of Bromwell High and I can't believe that one wasn't based on the other. They are exactly the same characters and if someone isn't picking up residuals then there must be a court case in the offing.
