Good movie, but overhyped

I watched this movie in Cinemax, Bangalore, and it is a good film, great even, considering the fact that it is a Kannada film.

However, it has been over-hyped beyond measure. You criticize it even a little bit, and the rabid fanboys are on your tail; hehe. I've seen the same on every comment section of the review, even though the review might be favourable to some extent.

Anyway, I hope this does good business. Good for the future of Kannada film industry.

Maybe that's because Kannada cinema is so starved that a film needs to be only decent in order to be called "great!" Ergo, the hype! I will by no means call it a great film; it's a good film no doubt, but hardly great. And if I were forced to call it great, I would, like you, qualify it with a "considering the fact that it is a Kannada film" he he...

How can you compare a "out and Out " commercial,Masala movie with Lucia,It is like comparing Birayani with Masala dosa. you should compare films like Ninnindale with Nenokkadene..Not Lucia with Nenokkadene..Got it?

reply

There have been much better movies released this year, but its only Lucia that's making noise in online community and most of the "fanboys" have invested in it and hence the over-hype. Hope at least now the upper class people, who are satisfied in watching mind-numbing Hindi/Telugu movies, turn towards Kannada Movies.

I am no Kannadiga..so i dont know about the movies reception in Karnataka's native social circles. But i checked some reviews of this movie published in some national review sites and every time a 'negative review' is published..a lot of foul mouthed people could be seen bashing the reviewers citing the reviewer should stick to mainstream masala movies etc..i am not sure of this movie's popularity in Karnataka..but 100s of comments attacking the reviewer even in some obscure sites!!!thats very strange given that there is hardly any commenter who didnt like the film..
As i hear..this movie is crowd funded and there are a lot of people ..100s of them,if am right..who provided the production money.
This almost explains the attacks against the reviewers!!idk for sure..but it is highly likely that sure is the case..

To answer your question I will say "Watch Lucia". You will also become one of the attacker who writes crappy Negative reviews.

i did watch it. Its clearly one of the worst movies i have ever seen.Worst, not in the sense that its not watchable ,,,i will admit its a watchable movie but that alone wont make me turn a blind eye to its problems.
I gave a rating of 1/10 here.
