Bridegroom on tombstone?

Unless I imagined it...I thought it said "Bridegroom" on Tom's tombstone. If so, why? Can someone explain.

Also, I thought the story of their relationship was beautiful and the focus was the issue of gay marriage. Agreed.

However, I felt like the documentary focused so much on Shane. I don't know if it was the "Real World" like interviews/confessions that turned me off, but I felt like it focused so much on him.

That was his Real Life last name. That blew me away, too.

He's on this site. Look him up.

He was a young, gay, good-looking actor with a promising career. And in a committed, monogamous relationship.

Threw his life away to make some dumb chick happy and to do her a silly, fatal favor. I have to wonder (as have others who saw the film with me) if he was drunk or high, and if they left that part of the equation out of the movie, to save face and to keep from besmirching the reputation of a dead man.

I know you may find this hard to believe but accidents happen to sober people.

True...but...

...weren't both "Alex" and the victim drinking in the apartment before they went up on the roof?

It's been more than a year (June, 2014) since I've seen the film, so I might be mistaken. I thought she mentioned that in one of the interviews.

But then, it was VERY hard to understand her when she spoke (they should have used subtitles).

Wow, you're pretty dense. The entire movie is about their relationship...seeing how Shane was 50% of that relationship of course the movie is going to focus on him a lot.

You do know that Tom is dead?

reply

Of course the movie focused on Shane...Tom was dead before the movie was made. The movie was about love and love lost in a tragic way. Who should've the movie focused on?
