For those that have seen all three seasons...

If one had to suggest, is Season Three more like Season One or Season Two?

I've seen both 1 and 2 and enjoyed Season 1 more than 2 and was curious which of the two Season 3 might be most similar to.

This. There's clearly a lot of call backs in style and tone to S1.
But a person who loves S1 may very well not enjoy the narrative structure of S3. And it's far more character-centric than S1.

S1 is the best. One of those rare moments where everything comes together. Acting. Atmosphere. Story. Directing with Cary Joji Fukunaga. The Apocalypse Now episode with the helicopter invasion of biker meth compound was one of a kind. The two leads in S3 are also very good. I hated S2. HBO is continuing with S4 wo Nic.
