Just finished watching this again with my girlfriend ...

Man is this really brilliant writing and insights into relationships between men and men and men and women. The love between the two partners and the hard relationship between Purple and his wife are just brilliantly written and acted.

All in all the plot was the weak point, but even it was above average. I was impressed with everything in this series, it was so far ahead and better than the rest of the series.

I want to see it go on and one, but I know it cannot. The friendship between the two men as they start out relatively young mean, go through their trials and mature and gain wisdom, and the decent of Wayne Hayes into dementia was just brilliantly done.
