Where would you like to see season 3 take place?

With ROBIN WRIGHT, NATALIE PORTMAN, JAKE GYLLENHAAL, JIM CARREY, CHRIS PINE?

I'd love to see Jake gyllenhaal in true detective. He was great in prisoners.

I'd be in for NO or NYC though like you say. If it were in Florida I'd rather Miami or even the Everglades. You could come with a grimy story with gritty characters in the Everglades I think but LV would be my first choice.
Leo would be good but not sure he'd be in to a cable series. James Franco I find to be pretty versatile so I think he would be good.
I could also see Clooney, Joaquin Phoenix, Affleck, or Jeremy Renner doing something like this. Maybe not as much for Clooney, that's just my own biased optimism.
What do you think about the actors I listed? Thoughts on Vegas?
Utah, Salt Lake and Tooele County, present day due to the surreal scenery and history of cults.
Benicio Del Toro (brooding, heavy-handed and rough detective) and Ally Sheedy (takes the case too personally, becomes too emotionally invested).
Based around the investigation of the murder of a young girl found on the banks of the Great Salt Lake (or in the Bonneville Salt Flats) that would be traced to a cult (could be based off of FLDS) that provides little information and has political connections in the county and state (keeping in line with the corruption aspect of earlier seasons, but not in a convoluted way).
I would prefer Benicio del Toro as lead actor, come along with Idris Elba and/or Michael Fassbender. This could be the highest quality...
shareJames Ransone, who was so absolutely awesome in Generation Kill (and more recently Bosch), would be fantastic!! And he doesn't bring along a lot of baggage of being well known for any one role.
Michael Fassbender would be incredible, too, as one other user suggested.
If you're going to cast Chris Pine, wouldn't it be great to also cast Zachary Quinto (reunited outside of the Star Trek series).
So many wonderful possibilities and you don't even have to go the A-listers like Clooney or Pitt or Gyllenhaal.
