Always believe the creepy guy you just met over your best friend.

WILDCHRISSY32

If a guy I just met started telling me stuff about my best friend I would automatically believe him over someone I have known for my whole life. I mean really Charlie tells Jo some juvie stories about Danny that Danny never mentioned and tells Jo that Danny attacked him and instead of believing someone she's known since birth she believes the guy she's just met. I just don't understand why she believed Charlie over Danny all those times that Charlie lied about Danny than finally came around when Charlie had a freaking meltdown in front of her talking about how everything he did was for her and that he'd loved her since before he met her. Instead poor Danny is left to think he's going crazy while Charlie is slowly unraveling everything that matters to Danny. Thankfully she did come around in the end and they have a very tender moment where he told her how he really felt.

I felt the same.
It's because Charlie is so handsome you will believe everything that comes from his mouth.

Lol <3

Seriously, I think it maybe because the main character is so...twisted.
Like you can't really trust him, and it's not the first time he lied to Jo, so...

But yeah, she should have thought.

it's true he lied to them before but that was always more out of fear then an outright desire to deceive people and mess with their lives. The first lie he told technically speaking was when he said he killed his aunt which is actually the one I sort of understood because he was terrified and in shock and he loved his father so he wanted to protect him. When he came back 5 years later after being in juvie and going through God only knows what kind of messed up stuff he is just starting to try to get back some semblance of normalcy and Regina gets killed and he finds his aunts necklace that Regina had for some reason that was never answered in his locker. Which leads us to the second lie which again stems from fear of what will happen because when it's mentioned that he could go to real jail this time you can see the fear in his eyes. Then he finally tells the truth about Aunt Tara and the necklace. When he does though you can tell how scared and vulnerable he is and it only makes him being in juvie worse because he was an innocent 11 year-old boy probably surrounded by bigger, and more dangerous boys.
Then Charlie appears while he's on the run and he accidentally kills his dad while protecting Jo which leads to the last couple of lies. The first being that he doesn't tell Jo or Lacey right away that he knew Charlie in Juvie which while not technically a lie was in fact a dangerous omission b/c both girls would have stayed away from him if they had known the truth. The last lie was lying about the accident that killed Vikram but again that was fear and that lie and everything that Charlie was doing to screw with him was causing him to unravel a bit.
To be fair though Danny was definitely not the only liar on the show. Tess lied about knowing Vikram was alive and she lied about having another child although again more omission then lie. Jack and Whitney both lied about a whole bunch of crap that we never got answers to, so every one of them had their flaws Danny just had more darkness because of what he'd been through.

Whatever why it was for, that still doesn't change the fact it was all lies.
So hard to trust him. Though I understand why he lied. That makes the character interesting, because you don't want him to be caught. He's the hero, you can understand his point of view.
But to the others' eyes, he's lying, of course.

And since he lied before, hard to keep on trusting him. What else could he lie? That what I would be wondering if I were his friend.

If Danny had never been sent in jail previously and always been with his friends, I would not understand why Jo trusts someone shes doesn't know.
But according to the circumstances...

You don't even know who you can trust, everyone has got a secret...

I just watched this episode. It pissed me off that she accused him of intentionally killing his dad. Of planning it. She was there when it happened. She knew damn well that it was self defense. She also knew it was an accident.
Then some guy she knows nothing about, comes along, tells her something, and she just forgets what she saw happen?
