The older brother made several comments that made it seem as though he didn't care much about Holly any more than he would a stranger's kid, and actually seemed annoyed that his brother was raising her and doing what he thought was in her best interest... wondering if this plot point was in the book, or even necessary?
shareIt was a big plot point in the book. The brother didn't think they could raise Holly or that it was fair to her or them that their sister did that to all of them. Mark stepped up immediately, but the others took a while to come around. That being said - the brothers in this movie are nothing like the book counterparts. They changed them so much, it's laughable.
