Surrogate has maternal rights over egg donor

From what I've read the woman who gives birth is legally the mother until she signs away her rights. So did Mallory sign them away before giving birth? I don't even know if you can do that before the baby is born.

It's different when the egg does not belong to the surrogate.

I'm watching it right now and there's a scene where it's specifically stated that the surrogate signed away any rights.

Besides, dat bitch be crazy!
