Ok I'm watching and I really don't see...

Why everyone hates it! I'm about halfway through and I don't think it's as terrible as everyone is saying it is. I'm pretty perceptive as to why people typically don't like a movie but I'm at a loss with this one. It's your typical Indy, low budget, drama (see: Gabby Hoffman lol) maybe people had high expectations but I saw no advertisement nor hype for this movie and came across it on Netflix. Also I feel like its actually pretty realistic as to how people would get along, it seems as though everyone in the movie is in denial of the situation, still clinging to their petty relationships to get through potential starvation, famine, etc. Please enlighten me! (Minus any snarky attitude)

As an apocalypse movie, it was terrible. As a movie about people, character development, and probably the most realistic display of modern day liberals, it was amazing.. Seriously I was deeply disappointed thinking it was going to focus more on a world crisis and apocalypse but I was also happy because each character was so well fleshed out and by the end of it I loved and understood every character except the snobby rich blonde boy. He seemed like an ass. And why did the little girl hold his hand at the end if he had absolutely no contact w/ her thruout the whole movie?

I kept thinking The Big Chill: The Next Generation, which is really what this was.

"I kept thinking The Big Chill: The Next Generation"

Yeah, that's what I thought too once the group gathered. Not as good as TBC, but still fairly interesting.

The setting distracted and diluted though imo. Should have kept it as a TBC inter-personal drama, instead of bringing in the half-assed disaster cum survivalist scenario. The latter was poorly done and boring, took too much away from what could have been a decent drama.

Finally watched it on netflix and I agree much better than what I expected based on # of stars given or freshness on rotten tomatoe.

I just watched it on Netflix and I really enjoyed it. It wasn't the greatest movie, but it was fun to watch.

I liked it!

It's not all that bad it's a typical Adrian Greiner film. Sort of naturalist and passive.
