Is there a single likeable character?
Seriously...
James is a bitch pretty much the whole movie. I was really hoping when he confronted the people who were trying to steal their supplies that he would finally sack up but he begged for his life instead. Just... Ugh.
Lily was just so goddamn aloof it was irritating. Not a care in the world, which is a fine attitude if your 18, but in your 30s? With a kid? Grow up. She had real problems in her life and marriage and refused to face them like an adult.
Lev? Does he even count. He had like 20 lines, 4 of which were character developement. He was a token (autistic?) hacker? The hell?
Nick is a perpetual ass. I just wanted him to get blasted in the face the whole film. He's married yet hung up on his ex-girlfriend who is married with a kid? And he decides to go for it? Pretty sure that's not what Benjie said...
And Benjie? That dude was the definition of butthurt liberal who can't see the forest for the trees. His only redeeming action was to tell Becky about Nick's high-school *beep*
And then there's Becky. Jesus roller-blading cheist, what a *beep* bitch she was. She was the worst damn character. She came right out the gates being a stupid bitch. The whole movie she was just a bitch.
And Ariel... Can't forgot her punk rock self. Where to begin, how about her liberal use of sex. Throwing it around and just assuming everyone wants it. Like when she insinuated that James wanted a blowjob. What? Because he hugged her back? That's a bit of a damn leap... Just a trampy slut who ended up *beep* the group right in the A with those soldier douches.
And the soldiers... I'd like to think that the brave men and women who serve our country will behave in a much better manner than those two did. Of course James turned them away. They were acting sketchy as *beep*. So bad thaf I thought they were pretending to be soldiers and marking houses. Course that would've meant I was watching an exciting apocalypse film.
And the kid... Hannah. Would someone please spank the everloving *beep* out of her? Bitching about Daily Bubble Time and just demanding it. She neads to learn the word "please".
Laura was really the only character who was worth a *beep* She was grounded, her actions founded on realism and not idealism like her compatriots. She acted and reacted in logical ways (for the most part). So she was tolerable.
Still, if I got stuck with this group during the end of days, I'd probably go Lev's initial route and blow my brains out. This movie had so much potential and it was completely wasted.
