2nd episode, Falcón was at Consuelo's house - question

I plan to read the book soon to find out, but in the mean time I'd like to ask:
What did the bloody hands mean at the end of the 2nd episode when Falcón was at Consuelo's house?

It represented the blood on his hands - not just the real blood but the blood
he imagines he has and he blood others have blamed him for. That's why he leaves Consuelo and tells her she has too much baggage. He wants to protect her
but also protect himself from any further pain.
