Goof in the "Goof"

The "goof" claims "Mossai" was speaking Malay. He was speaking Tagalog/Filipino, he said "oh salamat, ha" not that other phrase.

It appears the film is saying that the Vietnamese sneak into Korea via Hong Kong and that they speak English and Tagalog.

They must have just used a Filipino actor, had him speak Tagalog and pretended that was Vietnamese. Mossai or whatever his name was isn't anywhere near a Tagalog speaking Filipino name. I have no clue if it's anything like a Vietnamese or Malaysian or Indonesian name. I find it unlikely that it was meant to be a Filipino character as Filipinos don't usually get smuggled in via shipping container. And even if they did, a Filipino who is already in Hong Kong probably wouldn't do that to get to South Korea. They're already in Hong Kong. In which case, they likely went there as tourists on a plane. Why they wouldn't instead go to South Korea as tourists (the tourist visa application process is apparently not so difficult) and fly straight there is a mystery.

Seriously, though, assuming the people were meant to be Vietnamese, do Vietnamese people really go to Hong Kong just to get smuggled into Korea? Don't they have shipping containers and human traffickers in Vietnam?

Don't people in shipping containers usually want to try to go to Australia or the United States? You'd think that's why they seem to have prepared by making sure they know how to speak English.

So, a Tagalog/English speaking Vietnamese person flew to Hong Kong to get to South Korea in a shipping container and didn't bother to learn Korean.

My God. What events conspired to create that situation? Getting sick was the least interesting thing that happened to the people in that container.
