Can anybody explain why Ron Gural's character (Bud Carter's father) appears before the movie's end, as Robert Shafer (written on the news paper), but in the credits as Robert Sherman?

Just a guess, but since he inherited the money, I guess his father changed his own name before death, since his son wouldn't.

If that were the case, wouldn't he have changed his name to Carter? I lean to the first explanation: carelessness. Which explains the rest of the movie, too: an extreme waste of good livestock.
