So they were brothers?

It was very quick, but I got the impression from the newspaper shots at the end that Bud Carter and Jesse Weiland were brothers. It's not clear whether they knew they were brothers, and evidently neither of them wanted to take their dying father's name. Am I the only one who got this impression, or is it just too obvious for anyone to mention it on the message board?

I didn't get that impression at all. I do plan to watch it again though, so I'll pay attention this time.

All that newspaper had was two separate obituaries. One for Jessie Weilland and one for Bud Carter's father. There was no connection. Weilland's brother was the guy who died in prison from a poisoned drug injection.

I don't know everything. Neither does anyone else
