Hmmm

From watching the advert, is the joke that he's a terrible mimic? His Morgan Freeman ( and what i assumed was Alan Rickman) sounded more like a constipated Kenneth Williams.

Hmmm indeed...I'm really looking forward to seeing what this is like. Looking at Terry Mynott's stuff on YouTube I guess this might be more silly and messing about than your standard impressionists like John Culshaw (who is good at some, but the gags are weak). The trailer where he's David Attenbough? Alan Rickman? in the zoo, I've only seen it once and he sounds a bit weird in that, but it's a funny gag.

I'd like to say Andy was a good maaannnnn...

Been saying that all week, still sounds crap from me.

I can do James Mason - The Nautilus is dynnn, and I shall die with it.

See. Still not as good a Eddie Izzard though.

Alan Rickman, where did you get that from?

Impressions in order are:

1: Terry Wogan (while sat in traffic)
2: Alan Carr (walking in car park)
3: Dale Winton (while painting wall)
4: Gok Wan (while talking to Jean in the park)
5: Ronnie Corbett (hiding behind letterbox)
6: Morgan Freeman & James Earl Jones (while watching Penguin documentary)
7: Al Pacino (in the newsagents)
8: Vince Vaughn & Owen Wilson (walking in the car park again)
9: David Attenborough (standing on top of building)

Its kinda odd to say that you think one of his impressions sounds more like a constipated Kenneth Williams when you don't know who he's doing an impression of... thats like saying his impression of Al Pacino is terrible if you think its supposed to be Elvis Presley!?

For what its worth I think the impressions - with the exception of Vince Vaughn and, to a lesser extent, Owen Wilson which were both quite weak - are absolutely bang on.

@DJShades Have to disagree with you, I didn't hear anything that was 'bang on'. Having seen his Youtube video quite a long time ago I was expecting more from him. For me none of his impressions were better than ok and some were fairly weak eg Al Pacino, Ronnie Corbett and James Earl Jones. There's another thread on here suggesting it's not really about the impressions, but if you actually title the show 'The Mimic' then I'd say that the impressions in it really need to be of a high standard, certainly higher than they were in this first episode.

He does Alan Rickman in the trailers, so thats probably where they got it from

I love hearing the insane banter coming from the voice of Terry Wogan.
His Walken isn't that great, but his Pacino is pretty good.
