Spoilers - Last Scene

Yes, the sheriff was pretty clever, but I don't think he gets away with it. The final scene clearly shows the face mask left behind. No way that mask would not contain DNA...also, lack of other footprints in the blood. I know she had previously called the sheriff's office to report a suspicious prowler on her property, but after she had been attacked, I would have dialed 911. Even in the "country" they have 911! But then, we wouldn't have had that chilling ending with the sheriff's phone ringing in his pocket as she stood there.

I thought it was an okay movie, but I get annoyed when they show the females doing stupid things...like sobbing loudly to identify your location, or in her case, pausing before she shot him, and then not shooting him again. Anyhow, the most disturbing part is thinking that someone would find that fun. Sweet dreams!
