In a beautifully redone adaptation of a classic Western, Japan has taken a classic Clint Eastwood Western and made it their own. This takes the revenge tale and puts it in the late 1800's Japan at the end of the Shogun era. When an aging Samurai in hiding is called upon to avenge the injustice of a mutilated prostitute, he comes face to face with a ruthless sheriff intent on eliminating the old Samurai class once and for all.
