$407 million is a fail?

I just read that despite grossing $407m worldwide on a $125m production budget Universal still stands to lose $100 so it's a flop.

Even including marketing costs how is that arrived at?

reply

don't think Universal lost anything, 400m is profit territory

It's crazy this is considered a flop considering it made so much money.

reply

weird sounds more like Universal didn't want to go through with Dark Universe guess it was an executive decision then they decided to call it a "flop"

IT MADE MONEY...IT JUST SUCKED REAL BAD.

i think it made money, but it still underperformed based on what they originally expected it to make. it made less money than the 1999 Mummy movie. considering how awful the critical reception was, universal just took what money they made and called it a day, because they figured next time would not make them any money.
