Everyone who dislikes this movie seems to be stupid...

I know it sounds like a troll title, but reading through the comments here has convinced me that it's true. I didn't even like the movie that much, but the people getting hung up on the ute at the start not getting 'damaged enough' or that Eric's character was 'behaving stupidly' are really missing the point - not just of this movie, but perhaps of all movies in general.

Do people really have to be spoon fed every aspect of the film these days? Is this generation of movie watchers so immersed in their self-centered culture that, after the murder of three human beings, they're left whinging because 'the characters didn't stop and loot the camp!'? Has our ability to emphasize fallen so low that we no longer even see the character on the screen, but instead see ourselves and can only scoff 'Pff, I wouldn't have behaved like that!' instead of absorbing the deeper message of the human condition being conveyed?

It's really quite disheartening.

Great post , and yes I agree with many of your points . plus they call the film "trash" so often . That title would have to refer to a film that has no redeemable qualities yet the criticisms of this film ten to revolve around that notion .

Well AJones47 can you please find 12 million really smart people and get each one of them to send a dollar to the producers, so the less smart Australian taxpayers who paid for most of this movie through Film Australia can get a refund? Thanks.

The discussion does tend to the shallow. I do think large segments of the audience need all explained and in the simplest terms. God forbid anything is even slightly abstract. It is a pervasive laziness. Instant gratification without effort is all important.

I cant stand movies that state the obvious or worse repeat it in flashbacks or voice-overs.
But this flick is so simple, whats not to understand there?

Its not my stuff either though. The ending gave a very reasonable motive and was quite amusing. Nonetheless I felt like watching a slow man following other slow men who stole his car and that being exactly as boring as it sounds. ^^
The end upvalued it.
