I'm glad I watched this with access to subtitles
I could barely make out anything Pattinson's guy said.

I understood everything he said except for whatever it was he said when he sat down after talking to the asian lady. I don't think the first few sentences were even english.

Canada, and I still have no idea if what he said during that one scene was even supposed to be words. I wonder if this is how you felt for the majority of the movie.
shareIt was, although subtitles made what he was saying make sense of course as they do.
Obviously here in Aus we're perfectly familiar with most North American accents but his mush-mouthing drawl was just too much for me to make out.
