6/10. Here's why:


In order for a slow existential post-apocalyptic thriller to work, the audience needs to be given a reason to care about the characters, even if they're not good people (in this genre, they usually aren't). That's not the case in THE ROVER. Luckily, it's saved by Guy Pearce's performance, the cinematography, and one of the best climaxes of 2014.

I can understand the idea, although i did care from the very first moment. It didn't occur to me it's possible not to care for someone who's a walking mystery.
