I have no idea

I love watching horror and watch a lot of guilty pleasure horror but this was just bad with no redeeming qualities. It was one of the worst horror movies of all time with zero entertainment value.

The point is the same as all remakes. To make a bit of money. If there's a built in fanbase for a film, then it's almost guaranteed profit. I knew this film was going to suck, but I went out an got it on DVD anyway.

The point of remakes isn't often to gain artistic acclaim, it's to turn a profit and nothing else. If people will pay to see a movie, doesn't matter how cack they think it is if it brings a profit.

You could've called this movie Goblin Attack, and it would've been a more accurately described. But that would've been more difficult to attract new fans. Why bother, when you can remake films that already have fans that'll turn out? The studio doesn't care if you're bitching about a movie, if you're paying to do so.

That and Vince likes to try and prove he can do stuff other than promote wrestling, (The World Bodybuilding and the XFL were failed attempts at doing this also.)
