Dude........

SO annoying how on Netflix the description of the film is a total spoiler of the entire film LOL. If I were the director/producer, I would be infuriated if I saw that and would sue whoever it is that writes those blurb descriptions for netflix films. A lot of the times they totally give it away, or it's even completely wrong, which can make someone not even want to watch the film, or make you watch it, and you waste your time. I really wonder who writes those..... some people really eff it up LOL.

reply

i was pretty infuriated by that myself.

It usually helps if you post the evidence or copy/paste...because from what I'm reading, nothing was given away in the title or netflix description..at least nothing that wasn't revealed in the first 30 minutes of the movie. Bottom line, post pics or it didn't happen.

reply

then maybe they changed it since I saw it but as you can see from the poster above you, they also witnessed what I did.

reply

The entire film? If you've actually seen it, that particular plot point is revealed less than 30 minutes into the film, and it's not presented as a 'big twist.'

reply

i've seen it----obviously.

still would have been more enjoyable for me to watch the first 30 mins not knowing what was going on at all. even if i figured it out by myself early on---its always more enjoyable going into a film without the plot and it's details being written in the description of the film with specifics. and also like i mentioned it wasnt just this film its lots of films on netflix when there really is a huge twist that they write in the description or they are too detailed or not detailed enough, basically a lot of poorly written descriptions all over the place.

reply

I agree, they shouldn't have spoiled anything, and it reminds me of, in their early days, when they revealed the twist at the end of The Usual Suspects in their synopsis. I just wanted to make sure you didn't avoid watching it because you thought the whole film was already spoiled for you.

The Netflix plot description:

Putting a new spin on spooky, the haunted soul in this film -- 15-year-old Lisa -- is long dead, and the ghost she senses is a flesh-and-blood teen. Once Lisa figures out the score, she must help her real-life haunter unravel their house's secrets.

The chunk of the film is about finding out about what happened to her and to the other girls, and about trying to find some sort of way out for herself and eventually for her family, it doesn't become clear until the last act that the present time girl Olivia and her family are in fact alive, and even then only in the last 15 minute it really becomes about Lisa helping Olivia.

"Let's went, before we are dancing at the end of a rope, without music."

reply

Oh OK, I only read the shorter synopsis shown by highlighting the film on your list, which just reveals that Lisa is already dead.

reply

Yeah, that was seriously screwed up. It would have been nice to have the twist revealed in the movie instead of in the description box. I hope Netflix doesn't spoil any other horror movies I want to see.

reply

Yep. I just watched this on Showtime and the synopsis begins ‘A teenage ghost ...’ and it would’ve been nice to watch that first 30 minutes unawares. This is why I never watch trailers and now it seems I can’t even read a description. I guess putting spoilers in the title is next.
