Am I the only who laughed when Niecy was tasered

I can't stand her annoying character. She's the type of person who doesn't learn from her mistakes. So basically she's just like her junkie dad.
Anyhow, instead of coping an attitude she should have done what the cops told her to do.
You can disrespect your family all you want because it's up to them to correct you; however you cannot disrespect the cops and expect them to just let you go about your business.

reply

Exactly, they probably had a racist agenda for pulling her over but she gave them an excuse to escalate the situation. If anything she could have continued to mouth off to them while also complying to their authority.

reply

I laughed too. She has such a nasty attitude! Downright disrespectful.

It's Jan 1 and i just rewatched the episode. Neicy brought it all on herself.
Why would you try to drive off if a Police Officer pull you over?
She's just DUMB! No mind you, the cop should not have put his hands on her but she had ATTITUDE.

reply

i didn't laugh at all. it is a horrific image to see. but still i do agree that even if the cop was a douche, she should have just given him the license and other info.. seriously. who doesn't know how to pander to cops *beep* she is there getting loud and saying "duhh its a new car.. blah blah" even if its messed up you gotta bite your tongue and complain later so you can make it home. it would have been different if she did comply and for some reason the cop insisted she get out of the car and she didn't struggle and resist as much as she did and still got tasked and arrested. tazing (sp) might still be excessive. she didn't swing at him but try to break free of his grasp. but still it didn't have to get to that point. she could have stayed in the car if she didn't run her mouth. i guess thats what they've been getting at all this season and maybe the whole series. her rudeness. and now she finally popped off to the people she should have known better not to. FTP, but neicy should have know better. or does she not watch the news?

reply

You know Niecy ain't watching no news. She's watching her phone for a text back from one of her baby daddies...

reply

She's basically a WALKING STATISTIC, who reacted as usual and DIDN'T THINK about the welfare of her kids in the car.

reply

One thing I hated about this was the fact all week "the season finale" -you knew something happens between niecy and the police. They didn't have to show so much in the previews, damn near ruined a heck of an ending.

Everybody on the topic echoes me and my wife same feelings. And they had her made up extra ghettofied with the green eye shadow. But this will play out well next seasin. Did the cops have the whole exchange on camera? Will all the Patterson' side with niecy, or will someone have a dissenting voice? And if so, who? Will MJ put this on her show? Lawsuits? Protests? She'll be looked favorably by one side- a relative of MJ and a Patterson. Don't forget grandma and granddad are black legends. The other side will point out that she's single with 2 kids, barely employed and may have some dirt on her dad's drug history.

Very interesting next season indeed. And, oh yeah- MJ played THE HELL outta Loretta Devine in that last one. She was just too greedy. Used her pseudo intellectual inflated ego against her

reply

Nope. Her big ass flopping around was just as funny as this video to me! Niecey is so disgusting to me.

I can't believe they paid her a settlement like for WHAT?!! IMO the police was well w/I their rights to tase her big ass.

reply

I agree. Neciey is a hard headed girl. She got exactly whay she deserved. All she had to do was listen to the cop and she would had been on her way. So sick of her.

reply

It's funny how almost everyone who responded to this message isn't showing much support for Niecy, I'm wondering if the show's producers were aiming for the opposite effect.

I didn't laugh when she got tased as it wasn't funny, especially since her kids were in the car, and it presumbably goes back to stereotyping as to why she got stopped in the first place. Black girl, in a nice neighborhood, driving an expensive car-- albeit with no license plate-- but if she looked different, would she have been stopped or would they have treated her differently?

The cops' behavior and Niecy's behavior were both atrocious; yeah she had attitude, but he escalated the situation unnecessarily by pulling open her door and tasing her simply because she had a bad attitude. Not because his life was in danger, not because she was a perceived criminal, just because she didn't listen to him and he didn't like her attitude. He was like a kid who didn't get what he wanted so he threw a temper tantrum.

Cops are supposed to serve and protect, not everyone will bow down before the cops and do everything they say , or yes, people may have a bad attitude for being stopped -- cops need to be trained on how to deescalate the situation without pulling out a taser or a gun when it's not necessary. A taser wasn't necessary for an angry woman with attitude. He should have calmly explained why she was pulled over and say she was going to be arrested if she didn't comply , and that he wouldn't want to do that in front of her kids. And they could have then arrested her without use of a taser for not complying , if that was necessary. There are many cops who know how to handle situations like this, so it's the few who are bullies who are unnecessarily giving all cops bad names.

Niecy's attitude was atrocious; if she was giving attitude, she should have given her license and registration along with it, record everything on a dashboard camera, post it on YouTube, and contact a lawyer afterward if she felt like she was in danger at some point with these cops. Both sides reacted extreme, but Niecy wasnt the one with a gun (or a taser) in the end.

reply

The main fact you left out Carmen San Diego is that niecy's

was trying to drive off. She said I'm outta here or something to that effect. THAT a big no no- trying to leave the scene. I believe she even went to put the car in gear. On top of that she never gave him a drivers license. Your last statement said it all- the police had the gun and taser - you don't want them using it,don't do silly stuff like comply to basic police order (license, registration , etc)

Another direction I'll go- if she were a man, would she would have done this? A black male that feels he was unjustly pulled over will give up the license because the threat of the situation escalating goes up greatly. Especially if he's young and has some size to him

reply

Yeah Niecy was in the wrong as well, her attitude didn't help; but tasering was over-the-top, as well as the cop's attitude and specific intent to stop her in the first place. He could have calmly stated that he would be forced to arrest her if she didn't hand over her license and registration. Instead he was goading her along, "you seem agitated, why are you agitated" and talking down to her. All he had to do was talk to her like a human being, and if she still responded negatively and didn't cooperate then he could have proceeded to make the arrest. I'm not supporting Niecy's attitude, but a cop acting like you have to kiss his ass just because he's a cop is unacceptable. People should also be secretly recording what happens every time they are stopped by a cop.

reply

carmen, I think this is the direction the show us going. They want to show both sides in the wrong to a degree, and how both sides should improve to reduce t g see incidents in the future. There will be a camp niecy and camp police. Both on the show and boards like this. Eventually talk back and/or the network will be taking a stand, one way or another.

reply

Well said, and I agree. Both sides were clearly in the wrong, and people will choose sides both on the show and in real life-- it will make for interesting conversation as to how people, cops and civilians, should react in a situation like this.

reply

It would've been REALLY hard for them to get Niecy in handcuffs the way she was ducking & dodging his grip...

reply

Gingerale, I agree with you, about Niecy --

She's the type of person who doesn't learn from her mistakes.

It seems she is so ignorant, that she does not know that you CANNOT drive a car without license plates. I do not believe there is any state in the country that does not require at least one license plate on the rear of the vehicle. She was absolutely in the wrong and the attitude was uncalled for -- but then -- so was the tasing. It will be no surprise if we learn she left the car dealership in haste, without getting temporary tags.

reply

I did snicker a little...smh. She went AWF on the police officer and it was uncalled for. What bothered me was her reminding the officer that her son was in the car...uh. Why didn't you remind yourself that your son was in the car before you mouthed off like a crazy woman? I'm totally behind BLM but because police officers are public servants I always treat them with respect & even thank them for their service if I see one in passing...

reply

What I want to know is what kind of a moron drives around without any license plates on their car? The police had every right to pull her dumb@ss over. Plus, why would you mouth off to them? If she had pulled the situation off a little cooler, things would have gone a lot differently. And her children were on the car with her! You can only imagine what lessons she's teaching them, smh. Also, I'm sure it's not a good idea to have someone as big as her being tasered...

You laugh at me because I'm different. I laugh at you because you're all the same.
