For a Movie that was about the Events of One of the U.S.'s Presidents

the box office revenue generated had shown people really did not care. This movie flopped.

It did flop, which is a damn shame because I just watched it and it was pretty good.

I don't think it was promoted very well at all, because I had never even heard of it until today. With only a $10 million budget, you'd think they could turn a profit at the box office.

The American Film Company, who produced it, seems to have only made three films before calling it quits. That's unfortunate because they had a unique focus: Films that told stories from America's history.

I'm a JFK expert of sorts. Didn't like this film: very little dialogue, too many over the top crying scenes, etc. But at least it didn't go into the wacked out conspiracy theories of "JFK". And at least it didn't have Natalie Portman as Jackie!

I thought it was pretty good for a relatively low-budget, short and tightly-focused piece on the JFK assassination. I found it moving at times and I thought the sympathetic focus on Oswald and his family at the end was interesting.

It's surprising that they were able to get several notable actors when the budget was only $10 million. Billy Bob, Giamatti, Effron and Marcia Gay Harden for so little money is impressive.

I'd give it a 7/10.

I liked JFK as well. Yes, it delves into conspiracy theories, but Stone himself says the movie isn't "true" but rather it creates an alternative narrative to get people thinking. I have Jim Garrison's book that the film is partially based on, "On the Trail of the Assassins." You have to admit that there is weird shit surrounding the event. Even the government ended up concluding it was likely a conspiracy.

I'm pretty much an anti-conspiracy theorist, or as some would say, a coincidence theorist. Even though I don't really believe in coincidences either, because history has an inevitability to it. Anyway, yes, I did like the scene where they recreate Ozzy's funeral. That was well done. But most of the film they overcompensate for not having a solid script by making the characters cry and stuff.
As for "JFK" I mean it's so full of great actors it was hard to make a bad film. It's definitely worth seeing even if most of the film is false.

Ozzy's???? What an odd way to refer to Oswald.
