Watched a few minutes before I....

....turned it off and was reminded of why I don't want kids of my own and thought, "This country is screwed."

This country has been screwed for many years, but it really became screwed once the social networking websites started showing up. Guys like Mark Zuckerberg have screwed up a lot of lives.

Funny, I was reminded why I had kids in the first place, and continue to raise them to be part of the solution, not the problem.

I will say I'm damn glad my daughter doesn't have to grow up in NYC, and hates Gaga and rap music with a passion.

I heard the suburbs are just as bad if not worse than urban areas. Alcohol and drugs are prevalent because there's not much for kids to do and they don't have as many outlets for teens to engage in compared to those who live in a more urban area. At least that's what I heard from friends of mine who grew up in rural/suburban areas.

It's easier to keep tabs on kids in smaller cities, I'll say that much. Mine is 15 now and the worst I have to worry about with her is her boyfriend temporarily forgetting the look on my face when I told him I would break both his legs if his hand or any other part of his body found their way anywhere on my daughter's body they shouldn't be. Thankfully I'm blessed with the sort of kid who demands to be treated with respect from others even more so than I do. Daughter of an Alabama woman, neither put up with nonsense or sass. I hear stories on 60 minutes about prescription drug abuse in the suburbs etc etc, but neither myself or any parent I know within a hundred miles has had to deal with that or any of the sorts of situations the 12 year old in this film found herself in, and for that I am ridiculously thankful.

Facebook is the cesspool of narcissism. I have seen pages of 45-year-old women who post nothing but modeling 'selfies' of themselves. Like, 'At our family reunion!' - but it's just a photo of them making a sexy pose. No other family members in sight. It's ridiculous.

And I want to strangle every woman who has ever posted a goddamn duckface photo.
