'No Place on Earth' DVD review

The documentary possessed an uncanny ability to draw viewers in and immerse them in the story of this family's struggle to survive the horrors of the Holocaust.

The film comes full circle and ends on excellent note which involves a reunion of sorts. Click below for our full review.

I don't understand why the critics reviews are so low! But even the positive and highly user reviews are not reflected in the score. I have watched so many Hitler survivor documentaries and this one touched me so much. I must say that most do. I rarely walk away without feeling strong emotion and respect for those who's stories are relayed but this one was a touch above the others though I'm not sure why. Maybe because Saul is just too darn fantastic!! Yes, the story could've been told a bit better but the re-enactments enhanced the movie for me and allowed my children to connect and follow it easily. The overlay of the matriarchs narrative was wonderful and the interviews with the still living survivors was nothing short of awe inspiring and beautiful. Oh how each one loved, respected and admired their mom. Beautiful. I would like to know how she lived out the remainder of her life and regret that not being told or perhaps I somehow missed it. To me since it was Ester's story being told then we should've known how life was for her after the cave. I hope her life was lived in peace and beauty, surrounding by family, food and a warm bed every day once she crawled free of the cave. What a story!! How is this not a great docudrama?!?
