Two Problems With Spies of Warsaw

I enjoyed Spies of Warsaw but I don't think it is at all worth the hype and buildup.

It had two main problems:

1) British actors speaking with English accents while playing French characters would have been fine had they not interacted with British characters. That made it difficult to follow the story.

2) There wasn't really a lot to this in the end. It would have been better as a two hour movie about the gold and the gold only. Some build up and a little more about the efforts to get the gold out.

As with the hype there is a lot of buildup in the story and it ends up just ending.

I have to ponder why a Scottish actor, is speaking with a British accent, while playing a Frenchman.

Only two ? Having read Alan Furst's novel on which this is allegedly based, you need to take off your shoes to count all the problems with this BBC adaptation.
