Intoxicating mix of comedy and emotion.

Not often that a show teeters so narrowly between tears of sadness and tears of laughter, but the setting and mood definitely achieve that here. Borstein and Metcalf are likable and sympathetic characters. Many will tune in for pure comedy and come away dissatisfied, but I think HBO has offbeat gold here and needs to let it find an audience before pulling the plug...
