I am in love with this show...

and most people will miss the mark. So unfortunate.

Its really growing on me.

It's definitely a great show. I think the cast is excellent. That said, it's very depressing (so far) and intense at that.

reply

Out of curiosity, which parts do you find the most depressing?

reply

I didn't mean depressing in a bad way. It's just that when the characters express their frustration and turmoils they do it so well that you feel it. Especially the doctor, she is so depressed.

Well said, everyone so far. The show manages to capture a quite dark reality that many families and elderly persons face away from the rest of the world of snappy dressers and witty coffee shop banter in normal sitcoms. They can not keep marketing it as a comedy though because they'll attract droves of people looking for what they will never find and suffer the backlash.

People need to know it's dark comedy at best and laced through with a lot of sad drama. Beneath everything else like fecal matter and deaths, the show deals realistically with the typical modern workplace issues while not seeming at all politically preachy.

Eeek!!! I'm getting dressed.

I like it. The tone is so different, and - for want of a better word - askew, that I find it fascinating. It's simultaneously funny and dire. I find myself torn between a desire to hug the characters and to choke them.

I wonder what the characters do when they are away from the hospital. I also found myself happily engrossed with this new series.
