Expecting the stews to carry their radios and respond to her is being abusive? And Nico and Lauren calling her a bitch and a sh!t stirrer? I just don't get it. Have these people ever worked for a real boss? They need to grow some thicker skin and be happy she's actually looking out for them and funny while she tries to corral them into doing their jobs.
The captain is the same way with the deck crew! When he goes on a rant, it's due to them not responding to their radios right away! What's so hard to understand? The bosses said "don't go anywhere without those F'n radios!" It's been mentioned a thousand times! Their job isn't that hard; doesn't take a lot of smarts for huge tips! People off the street would kill for those jobs! Idiots!
Nico and Lauren just like to *beep* talk and stir *beep* in general. They go after Kelley behind his back too, but act like his best friends to his face.
Also, there is no reason they need to come to the defense of the stews and feel outraged by how Kate treats them. How many times has Kate come to Sierra's defense against deck crew members? At least twice if not more, while Nico and Lauren did what they always do, keep quiet and then *beep* talk behind people's backs, when that is an occasion they could and maybe should even step in and get their fellow deckhands/friends to calm down in the moment.
They're all fake! I couldn't work like that! After they see the "confessionals," I don't know how they can continue being so phony to one another when there's a ton of animus "just under" the surface! What was Ben's problem; was it the booze making him "go off" like that on Kate? The apology wouldn't have been enough, but we'll see if all come back for next season!
Ben's problem seemed to be he drunkenly thought the best way to prove he loved Emily and wasn't interested romantically in Kate was to be an *beep* to Kate.
Also, when Ben got Emily another huge flower arrangement in a vase and put it on the dock, I was like wtf is he thinking? Does he think she's going to take that on the plane with her?
So good to see people sticking up for Kate. She's the female Captain Lee, whom everyone loves. But because she's a woman giving orders, that makes her a bitch?
I admire her work ethic and the fact that she strives for perfection.
Was that a new one? I thought it was the first one he wanted to keep in the walk-in. I did think it was strange that he took it and put it on the dock for her to see as she left. Oh, Ben -- 38 going on 14.
I agree. She's just doing her job and trying to get the rest of the crew to keep doing their jobs instead of slacking off - which is also part of her job! She even did them a nice favor by letting them use that room and then they trashed it and got mad at her for noticing it was trashed? What the hell. They're a bunch of lazy brats.
Hang around their necks like "medallions!" I think it's a lame reason to give "I didn't know you needed anything" since the radio was either missing or left behind somewhere!
I don't understand it either. Kate is a perfectionist in an environment where perfection is the standard. These people are always worrying over the tip. Those big tips are for excellence and perfection. You'd think her coworkers would thank her not rip into her behind her back. What a bunch of fools!
Sierra had made legitimate mistakes; including burning a sheet with an iron left unattended, but she can't understand Kate critiquing her work ethic!
Remember at the very beginning of the season when she volunteered to help Ben with the 12-course tasting menu? All she had to do was make a salad, and she completely effed it up. Ben actually treated her with kid gloves, and she still had a meltdown and called her mommy and said she wanted to quit. This after saying something like, "I have a really thick skin, but this is just too much..." Where is this thick skin? I sided with her when it came to Kyle and Kelly, but Kate, in my opinion, was super easy on her. On both of them.
