Season 2 episode 2

What was in Solveig's message on Emil's Facebook that made Frederik go to Thailand with Gro. I had English subtitles but not for that. Thanks.

Basically Frederik learned that Solveig helped Emil sell his resort in Thailand and she admits that she feels lonely and tense with Frederik. She can't admit to Frederik that she gave Emil the money to return to Thailand, thus making her feel more alone with the knowledge that she helped him to his pitiful fate in a Thai prison. Maybe Frederik finally realizes that Emil is an essential part of the family and decides to try harder to save him.

I don't speak Danish btw, so I'd be interested in hearing others' opinions. I just relied on my very basic knowledge of Norwegian and Google Translate. ;)

ahrawrah, thanks for replying.

No problem! But I'm not sure if my interpretation was correct. I'm just watching episode 3 right now and I'm floored by Frederik's response to seeing Emil in jail. Instead of comforting his brother, Frederik's screaming about Emil should never see Frederik's family again. Either Solveig meant something more loving in her messages, or Frederik is overreacting (as usual).

I think you are right. I wont say anything else as I saw it back in February and may spoil it for you.

[S02E03 spoilers] He feels betrayed by Emil because he kept close contact with his wife even after he slept with her. The chat conversation indeed doesn't cross the line in objective terms, but to Frederik it's something heartbreaking.

I must say I didn't expect such an intense response, but that is probably something the writers intended to, mainly to enlarge the shock effect. I believe it's the most powerful scene of the entire season.
[edit: spell check]
