Abortion?

Ok, so when Beth is asked if this is her first child, Francis hesitates for a heartbeat and says, "third." I have a hunch that the children were killing the adults, for having killed two children. I don't know. This movie made no sense. I just thought I'd mention it because no one else had.

In the original film, at the end one of the children on the boat says something like "There are lots and lots of children in the world" so I kind of wondered if he was imagining his own children becoming killers in the future. I was actually hoping in this version that they'd make it back home and then their children would become evil. Also, in the original film there was a 7 or 8 minute documentary discussing all the wars and famines throughout the years and how many children have been killed during them. So I think the original film shows that the adults have always had control of the world and ruined it. Therefore the children kill all the adults and take over. Also one child acts normal and then one stares into her eyes so then she becomes evil. The reason behind all this was explained a lot better in the original.

Remember, though, that before the couple left for the island, they talked about their kids in the hotel room, and the dad called home to talk to them. I did't notice any hesitation when he told the woman that this was the third child. Besides, the children killed everyone on the island, not just this couple.
