I think it's funny

That everyone who has a haunting, also just so happens to have a friend who knows a group of paranormal investigaters.

"a father can't murder his own children that would be in bad taste"

Birds of a feather. The thing is, people talk about this dumb crap, and someone will always try and make themselves feel special by saying they know somebody or know some way to contact the dead.
It's sad how many people just can come to rational conclusions and let themselves get carried away with ridiculous ideas about the paranormal, which there is zero evidence of.

I'm not sure why it bothers people so much that others might believe in this stuff. Humans have enjoyed telling each other "ghost stories" for eons. Who needs evidence, anyway? Millions of people gather together every Sunday morning to swap stories with absolutely zero evidence, and most of them assume it's absolute truth. I'm a huge skeptic of all of the above, but I'm frankly more inclined to believe in the survival of a human spirit after death than an invisible deity; at least I know for a fact that the human actually existed in the first place. In the end, however, it doesn't much matter - a spooky story is just good fun to me.

i sooooo agree

I agree it takes the fun out of things, similar to coming across something to debunk the phenomenon. But I still believe things like this happen and I can always appreciate a good ghost story.
