sushi contest judging

Loved the movie, but did anyone else think there should've been a scene where the judges are discussing the taste/presentation of the dishes created? I would love to see the behind-the-door panel discussion (Does Golden Gate Bridge have anything to do with the taste of the sushi? How did Green Diablo roll taste?), conflicts among the judges and whether the final results were biased or not.

Well I'm glad Juana didn't win. I think that's what made this such a great movie.

man.... talk about a spoiler alert.. -_-

I was thinking the same but then I realized that the judges were never going to award first place to Juana anyways, just make it look fair to avoid any lawsuits.
It will definitely be on my favorites list and Diana E. Torrez fan.

I agree, it seemed a bit rushed. At least show them tasting it and their reaction but I agree about the ending, her winning would have been over the top. Great little movie... !

Loved the movie and the idea of using Mexican ingredients in sushi, but the sushi she prepared was so big to put in the judges mouth. I think that held her back some. We will never know. Also she was about to cry when they was interviewing her about losing, ugh! Cringe worthy moment for me as a woman chef. Major no-no! Overall great movie!!

Well since the spoiler alert finally was announced - thank you Pinokio,

I agree that her leaving the interview at the end to go off crying was a bit of a let down - but then -

she seemed very, very young and had been working so hard trying to prove herself - in that moment she could not see what she had actually, amazingly accomplished - she just saw it as the same-old-story - so in light of these things I understood ...

This was, overall a great, sweet little movie!

i agree i would have love to know if they really took the faux pas in to account of it they didn't like her use of Mexican flavors.

but i guess the point of that ending was-

when asked she said the decision was fair. she didn't try to pull the gender or race card, she said it was fair THEN left to feel sorry for herself. I'm assuming that was the reason the restaurant owner saw fit to hire her back in the job she wanted.
