What happened at the end?

I rented this and it jammed just after David realised that he had killed Simon during their childhood . I tried replaying it numerous times and jumping to the chapter but it just stopped at the mother standing in her living room door with a cup in her hand, went black and went back to the start up screen. The last chapter in the selection wouldn't play and just goes to black screen.

What happened at the end? I'm sure it wasn't meant to end there, lol.
