Ending inconsistency (spoiler)

Doesn't it kind of ruin the concept that this movie has a happy ending? According to WiB lore, a child has to die whenever the WiB is seen, and both the original from 1989 and the remake from 2012 have sad endings, where the main character gets killed by the WiB.

This one, however, has Eve and Edward being all happy, and Eve does not suffer any loss for her giving up her baby (except for Harry, whom she, in all honesty, just barely knew).

Why did we get a feel-good ending instead of a sad one, in accordance with the original(s)?

Unless when she had the strange look on her face when she looked in the mirror she saw her again!!!! Eve had a very odd look on her face when she looked into the mirror!!!

Unless you consider the ending in the WIB film adaptation to be "sad."

I mean, yeah, he and his son died. But they were also reunited with their dead wife/mother. So...kind of a silver lining there.
