This film is not anti-hindu but just imagine a Islamic equivalent of PK

I am not criticizing this movie. I liked it, rated it 8/10. Also, I think those who see anti-hinduism elements in this movie are a bunch of jokers and fools with no right brain, and who partly are the cause of all religious problems in India.

On a second note, just imagine a Islamic equivalent of this PK being released in India. Frankly, I don't even see it releasing because I do not see censor board passing this movie. I see a lot of violence and disturbance all over India. A lot of rallies being carried out in the protest of this movie. I see two groups of politicians - one who are condemning this film and others who are silent. I see no politician coming in support of this film. I see atleast some1 who was associated with this film being attacked(probably by muslims).

If you somewhat agree with my imagination, then its time to realize this problem with our country. In order to cure or fix some problem, you must first be willing to accept it. Above description, describes indirectly, effect of Islam on our country. You don't need to be ultra hindu nationalist or ultra religiously hindu or even anti-muslim to realize this. You don't need to hate some1 in order to accept and see this problem.
Since british left India, hinduism has been very much positively reformed. We see rare cases of caste system in urban India. All the ill practices of hinduism, prevalent during the british period have been removed slowly since independence. It has happened becoz of great intellectual and good reformers and political will to do so.
But when it comes to Islam, I see no reformers, I see no political will to modernize it. It seems that Islam is fixed in 7th century and we see from time to time its effect on a national scale.

Agree with you completely. With PK, it was easy to target Hinduism as the main religion to have a humourous pop at. In the West this is done regularly with Christianity (see the regular Jesus appearances in Family Guy and the bible bashing in The Simpsons via Ned Flanders and Rev. Lovejoy). Sikhism is also a good target for humour in Bollywood films.

At this point let me just state that I think there is absolutely nothing wrong religions being satirised like this or questioned in the manner displayed in PK.

But Islam..............oh boy. That is a religion and Muslims in general are a people who will never tolerate a PK that questions its methods and beliefs.

How easy was it in PK for Aamir's character to have a pop at Hindus going to temples on their knees or rolling along on the ground? If he had instead questioned the stupidity of Shia Muslims mutilating or beating themselves, or all Muslims starving themselves all day during Ramadan or having to travel thousands of miles for Hajj (with many dying along the way) just to please Allah and arguing that he wouldn't really want them to do that...............the uproar would have been unimaginable. And the question has to be asked, why is this the case when it comes to Islam? Why does this religion get carte blanche when it comes to comedic pops? Just why are filmmakers (both Bollywood and Hollywood) so scared to apply the same rule to Islam as they do to all other faiths? But I'm afraid, we all know the answer to that already. Don't we?
