Took me by surprise, needs to be seen.

I watched this movie under recommendation from a friend after i told him i watched bowling for columbine, so i checked out the rating- a mediocre 6.7 as of march 2016- and saw its budget and the fact it was a found footage movie, I was quite put off the film. After he insisted i decided to check it out and i was incredibly shocked.

The humour was perfect and all the film references added another level of connection. The cinematography was quite impressive for its low budget and the fact its meant to be found footage. The whole film was made with love for other films and an innocence to the very serious subject matter. The soundtrack was surprisingly accessible and decent as well.

I feel like the ending was great but i wanted to see a bit more of a build up to that climax because it did feel like it just sort of happened. Although this is a very well rounded film i also felt the character of matt was a bit uneven as he went from shy to talkative often without sticking to either its a very weird contrast.

But overall a film that needs to be seen by a lot more as it feels very much like a lighter tone to a subject matter that is rarely touched on.
