I was always under the impression that Canada had relatively strict gun laws and was surprised to see them going out and shooting off all those guns when they went to the cottage over the weekend. Are guns like the ones they were shooting off legal in Canada?

The guns (except handguns - IN THAT LOCATION) are legal if you have a PAL, though the shotgun shown I believe would be restricted with the short stock (I can't remember if it had one or not).
The handguns are legal if you have a permit for them, but you would only be able to discharge them at a gun club.
Or in a few other (legal) situations, but not in the manner shown there.
vz-58 is legal here since it's got a different action than a true Kalashnikov.
