Cate was just electrifying in this

This is the film that really made me rate Cate as an actress, although she's always been great but this was my first real 'discovery' of her so to speak.

She was absolutely mesmerising to watch. She just completely inhabits her characters. She really embraced all the little physical ticks, mannerisms, the eye rolls, the inflections. The way she portrayed Jasmine when she was doped up/drinking/coming down was incredible. She really chartered the emotions of Jasmine. The scenes when she was talking to herself were such a mix of hilarious, painstakingly uncomfortable and poignantly sad.
