The next gen Expendables had zero charisma

... even compares to the old guard.

I agree they were so boring... only Rousey was sort of OK, but only on the action scenes, some of her lines were cringe-worthy.

Probably none of those guys will ever star in movies as iconic as Terminator, Indiana Jones, Rocky, Rambo, Star Wars, True Lies, Die Hard, Mad Max Road Warrior, Lethal Weapon, and to a lesser degree The Transporter, Desperado, Zorro...

They needed to be able to bring in some current action stars, but most likely their budget wouldn't allow it. - Obviously The Rock!

But considering their budget... they probably could have gotten John Cena instead of that guy from Twilight.

I think better options that they could have afforded would have been:

John Cena
Tyrese Gibson
Adam Rodriguez
Ronda Rousey (only remaining member from the crew)

Billy the Kid from The Expendables 2 was better than all the young cast in The Expendables 3.

Rousey was absolutely awful. Just as bad if not worse than the rest of the young cast.

Agree.... she was ok in Fast and Furious playing pretty much the same role, but in the nightclub scene it felt like a guest spot for someone who is a big name, but can only act enough to just to get through in a cameo.... as the movie went on her acting got worse and worse, with it feeling like her lines were even dubbed at one point.

Indeed, the whole film was zero Charisma.

The nu-team should have been killed off by Mel just to prove a point, in an explosion preferably

Hemsworth was better in 2

There are better younger actors, who starred in action films that could have worked better compared to Lutz, Rousey, Ortiz and Powell like Gina Carano, John Cena(has improved over the years), Iko Uwais, and Charlie Hunnam.
Honrable mention is Chris Hemsworth.

It doesn't matter if they picked better younger actors. The whole point of The Expendables was seeing the action stars of the 80s all together.

i liked the new kids way better than liam hemsworth in part 2
