Did the mescaline work?

It seems like they were starting to get high right before they went swimming because Cera freaked out for a few minutes. But other than that they never really acted like they were tripping or at least didn't mention anything about it. Then later they were eating and Crystal said she was going to bed which is almost impossible to do on mescaline. I took mescaline a few times during college and I remember the anticipation for those first few hours. Your mind almost convinces you that you are seeing things like right away Crystal talking about the faces in the rocks. Sometimes it doesn't work though and after a few hours you realize it was bad. I think that is what happened. Maybe they cooked it wrong or something. Any thoughts? Or did I miss something? Any comments are appreciated. Thank you.

A close relative of mine took San Pedro on a guided experience, with a "Shaman".
She had told me about it, but I don't know the experience by myself.

A lot of the time u don't freak out or act crazy. The trip is more of an ego killer. Those with a shrunken ego can accept things & become right-sized. It's impossible to be arrogant on psychadelics. Which is why after Jamie started to trip he wasnt bossy and wasnt trying to control everything. And I think it's possible to sleep on it depending how worn out u are from it.

It is definitely possible to fall asleep on mescaline....trust me. Lol

I felt like the characters were a bunch of *beep* I would not wanna be tripping with those people
