Two episodes in, totally awesome

There are now two episodes out and still there is nothing on the message board. It's a shame because it seems like this series gets not the attention it deserves. It reminds me of the real good BBC-Series in telling a thick single story with a lot of angles. "Harry" succeeds to suck you right into the story and the emotions of the characters. The accent is sometimes hard (though not impossible) to understand but it is totally worth it to pay attention throughout. While Sam Neill cannot play out his potential and seems mainly to deliver his famous name to the series Oscar Knightley is a revelation. While his character is an often used one (clever cop who sometimes looses his temper and has personal problems in his life) he breathes life into this role and felt credible and, yeah, refreshing.
Next week's episode is definitely a must-see for me.

I predicted that the young murderer would hang himself in his cell. I think anyone who's been alive for ten seconds would have seen that coming. Also, as a New Zealander of Samoan descent, the Samoan spoken on the show seems a bit off. Samoan is typically a rhythmic language that flows off the tongue whereas on here, it has this plodding, percussive quality to it that just sounds like the actors aren't natural speakers and/or are just putting it on for a TV show.

Other than those things, the two episodes so far have been decent. Oscar Kightley's handling himself quite well in a serious drama. The rest of the cast are well-cast in their roles also. The dialogue (not the Samoan delivery obviously) is pretty solid too. I'm interested in seeing where this story's going.

"Don't cry, it is to be; in time I'll take away your miseries and make 'em mine... D'Evils."

There was a song Harry's daughters choir was singing and it really made the scene where the young man hangs himself that much more emotional. Does anyone know what the song was?

Just watched the first two and I like it. Somewhat like Luther from BBC. As for the song the daughter Mele said it was a Welsh song and in the credits it lists the Auckland Girls' Choir as a thanks. So, maybe you could contact them?
