Wasn't the Dudley Moore-Kirk Cameron version bad enough?

I have not seen the Moore-Cameron version but I guess it was as bad as you say. I strongly think this is not a remake as many films were made about exchanged babies (e.g. : La vie est un long fleuve tranquille). "Soshite chichi ni naru" (Like Father, Like son) is an outstanding production (winner of many deserved awards). Not to be missed (9/10) !

On a related note Steven Spielberg's DreamWorks Studios is eyeing to remake this film.

This is not a remake of 1987's Like Father Like Son.

It is very similar to the 2012 french film, The Other Son (Le fils de l'autre). That film also revolved around two boys who were switched at birth; however, they only find out when they're 18 (and the 'Israeli' son is about to join the army). The Other Son is a lot more complex as one son is Israeli and one is Palestinian.

I liked Like Father, Like Son. It had some nice subtle moments, but I prefer The Other Son.

No worries, they're totally different. This Japanese film is a drama about two baby boys switched at birth, and the other is a comedy about a dad and his teen son magically switching bodies as if their "souls" changed location; it's really a male version of "Freaky Friday" (both versions: 1976 & 2003).

Film titles are not an ideal way to determine storyline or plot. When in doubt, consider referring to the IMDb summary and compare.
