Having a hard time watching

So over the bullying on Mary. Its disgusting & repulsive.

Its kind of shocking with so many stands on bullying that they even allow this to be aired.

reply

Absolutely. It is actually very shocking to see them all sitting around so deliberately and calculatingly cackling and positively giddy in their digs into Mary. It is absolutely amazing how malicious and spiteful people, particularly women, can be for no reason whatsoever. How miserable must their lives be for them to get such utter glee and edification from tearing down another person? Wasn't it Gandhi that said that he found it mystifying how others could find enjoyment in the degradation of their fellow human beings? These women are utterly horrendous. Although that ugly over-the-hill homely cow Jody is their ringleader, she is not solely responsible. They are all grown adults who are choosing to sit there and glean enjoyment from the derogation of another person.......the fact that they chose to align themselves with such a despicable indefensible position is very telling of their character and their ability for independent, critical thinking.

One would think we have good enough producers/directors in Canada to make the show exciting and interesting and not all bullying.

reply

A couple of people I know are producers on the show, I'm absolutely disgusted with the fact this show exists and these horrible people are given a venue. It's sad, and sullies our beautiful city.

reply

If someone on the show gave a good explanation for the Mary-hate then I wouldn't be too bothered with the ladies putting Mary down. The only problem is that we only have a few white lies Mary has told, and that doesn't justify the reactions she is receiving. Without a good explanation, Ronnie and Jody make themselves look bad while Mary seems like a victim.

Also, I'm beginning to not feel sorry for Mary. Why does she put herself in situations where she knows that she will be the target?

reply

"Also, I'm beginning to not feel sorry for Mary. Why does she put herself in situations where she knows that she will be the target?"

They seem to do this on every RH show..they have a villain and a victim..can't feel sorry for either one of them, they have experience from the last season..more than likely it is simply engineered when they put them all together.

If it is real, then why the hell would Mary invite Amanda to her birthday party, after she told her to *beep* off? She keeps hanging around these women, she's on the show, and she gets bullied by these women. Exactly what did she think was going to happen?

reply

Yes, I suppose the pattern is the same on all the RH shows, always a victim and villainess. That is the main reason I have no sympathy for Mary, and I think there is no excusing her because she is under contract. She is making her living as a professional victim. She has chosen to be on this show twice and signed the contracts knowing, particularly the second, time what she was signing up for. Sorry, but to my mind this makes her the worst hypocrite of the bunch because she supports anti-bullying causes, laughing all the way to the bank with the proceeds from this enterprise.

Probably the biggest mindgame this show plays is blurring what is real and what isn't, letting the show bleed into Twitter and Facebook wars for publicity. It is so faked. How anyone can believe the contrivances like the psychic or Mary's faked date to come in the finale is beyond me, but they do.

The whole show makes it's money off of people being enthralled by watching women treat each other horribly. The whole enterprise is dreadful. I'd rather watch the fireplace channel. I curse myself for taking on the project of analyzing this trash for my media studies class.

She just avoided a situation where she'd be a target in the most recent episode. I'm not sure if you've noticed, but Mary doesn't even need to be present for them to trash her. For hours.

reply

She did avoid it in the last episode but I wonder if there are contract obligations of her having to go to most of them?

reply

Ya I think you're right. No way she's allowed to refuse to interact with them entirely.

And I don't think it's fair to say that because she agreed to be on the show, she's fair game for bullying. She's obviously on the show to try to relaunch her career and get her music out there. Her publicist/agent probably advised her that she has to suffer and bear it for her career. This is her workplace, and this is bullying in the workplace. It's no different from bullying in any workplace and completely unacceptable. It's just that because she's in the entertainment industry, her workplace looks different.

It's more upsetting to me that the show brought on women who fall into Jody's corner, but not women who'd be on Mary's side. Ouilia sees the BS but doesn't defend Mary. Robin is the only one and she almsost never does.

I could not agree MORE with YOU!! The stand, WE, as CIVILIZED people WITH a BRAIN,COMMON SENSE & A HEART- do NOT put up with "bullying" of ANY TYPE!! Espcially the children are taught to TELL someone they trust, parent, teacher what have you. That, THIS type of behavior is NOT a secret to carry around, live in fear etc. Yet LOOK @ THESE "refined ladies"(their words NOT myn). What a 'great example' for the children to (possibley) see a bit of or over hear, if mummy/daddy might be watching RHOV @ the time. How DOES mummy/daddy explain THAT behavior?? "Oh,that's just pretend (??) on T.V.?? Yeah, right!! NOT!!

reply

I have never complained about a tv show before in my life but after last weeks show I was so offended that they try and pass this sh!t off as entertainment that I wrote to Slice.
I got a response which basically said we are sorry you were offended but it is real and we can't help what they do.
Total bull. I have said in another thread I will watch the finale but if there is another season and Jodi, Amanda and Ronnie are back, i'm out.

reply

It was interesting the reaction Robin got from Jody when she sided with Mary. That is why no one stands up for her, but it is not Jody that is at fault...it is the by-standards that give her the "power". Out of all the shows, this is the most disgusting and I have stopped watching. It just is too ridiculous to.

reply

We have only just started getting this show in the UK which is why I'm so late in responding.

I find the picking on Mary really strange from grown women with children, jobs and homes to run.

I find Ronnie the worst because she was friends with Mary for so many years. She must know Mary's kids pretty well, so why would she want them to seeing Mary being treating in such a malicious way is beyond believe.

Ronnie would often say she thinks Mary is jealous of her. But from watching her talk about Mary, I think it is the other way round. Ronnie is an at home mum, which I know is a busy job within it's self, but not if you have housekeepers taking care of your home and cooking meals. Where as Mary has raised 3 kids and managed to have a singing career at the same time. I noticed when Ronnie was trying to start up the Rehab wine business, that she did not have a clue about anything business related. Her son didn't have a clue either and the fact he was involved in the whole thing in the first place makes me think he doesn't have anything else to do. Yet Mary's son is interning with ex-president Clinton. I think Ronnie the the jealous one and for good reason.

reply

Watch season 2, it's 100 times better than season 1. It explains a lot of the Mary hate too. Mary is 100% jealous of Ronnie and tries to copy Ronnie on everything she does. Mary is also a massive liar which rubs everyone the wrong way.

~Obviously best for them to turn their guns to a fist.

reply

Please provide examples of what Mary lied about.

Ronnie is obsessed with Mary. Jody is jealous of Mary. They are both a pair of *beep*

Seriously, Ronnie pretends to be friends with Mary and then turns on her the second her back is turned.

Ronnie is crazy and has a drinking problem.

Don't let anyone ever make you feel like you don't deserve what you want.
