Someone explain the ending

Hi Guys,

I am actually not into thrillers and horrors but really liked this one. I read in other post that Aaron was infact killed, i just wanted to know if its true ? or its just one possible ending ?

The tarsus club did 1 of 2 things..

1. They killed Aaron, and Jim was forced to say that they pretended to kill him to scare him or face death himself - and then start to act like they are an above board organization that is baffled by the conspiracy stuff that surrounds them to throw off further snooping into their society.

2. Or in actual fact just scared Aaron and he was angry as they say and possibly disappeared to the "off the grid" society in Canada that he was researching earlier in the movie.

You decide I guess...

So then why release the footage to begin with? Why would they allow him to share his belief that they were a secret society and also his friend was so scared that he vanished without a trace?

end transmission,

reply

The movie answers that question when they ask Mark about why was his article out.

the ending is not ambiguous whatsoever. Aaron is shown to be killed, stabbed repeatedly. Then the documentary is shown as being edited around that scene. This is all deliberate.

At the end of the film Jim also muses that "Aaron and Terrance are probably in the same place now", i.e. obviously seriously implying that they're both dead (Aaron we already know and Terrance was fairly obvious too)

she fell through a hole, and was never seen again

reply

It is true, he was killed.
Jim Was chosen to either JOIN the club and made his friend get sacrifised, or just threatened, his wife and child were on the line. And u can see the wifes face in the end. She feels guilty over what they did and how they are part of the cover up of the dissapearing of aaron.

Eh, Aaron is still around:

It is heavily implied that Aaron was killed. Escpecially with the line about him being at the same place as Terrance. Seeing as Terrance had not been voicing any ideas of going to an off grid community and was all about going out there to spread his message. So it is highly unlikely that it would be a reference to that off-grid community.

Besides it also sounds like he gets stabbed on the tape.

Bad writing and idea. No need to be explained. Just an incredibly dumb movie.

Mark Tucker (White haired ponytail) even says during interview, they release information partially to control what opinion is held of them and to warn off conspiracy theorists. The fact he was seen part of it has double effect that even the part he played in helping them was all to control the whole infiltration.

reply

Aaron was killed and James is forced to be part of the cover up. James was always happy to be controlled as he said they have always controlled us and always will, so he is already reluctant to fight for complete freedom. The whole documentary is then re-editted into pretty much propaganda against conspiracy theorists and therefore showing themselves, yet controlling how they are seen.

reply

Easy, either proverbially "left town" (went to live with family or that commune) or got committed (psychiatric institution) along with Terrance.

"Sorry. If I've not responded to you either it wasn't necessary or I've set you to Ignore."

Aaron is literally shown being stabbed in the original documentary and then an unknown editor at the end is editing out that very scene.

You missed it if you didn't get the more than heavy implication that both Aaron and Terrance are dead; i.e. the powerful 'group' showing said power by not being afraid of essentially not hiding this and releasing the documentary to potentially get more conspiracy theorists into their rituals to kill

she fell through a hole, and was never seen again

reply

I didn't get that impression.
